Description
"The Jaguar XJS was a luxury grand tourer produced from 1975 through to 1996 and replaced the E-Type. The XJS was actually more aerodynamic than the car it replaced with the last one being produced on 4th April 1996; at that stage 115,413 had been manufactured during an impressive 21 year production life. Power came from the Jaguar V12 petrol engine with a choice of a manual or automatic transmission but the manual gearbox was soon dropped. V12 engined cars were unusual at the time with notable exceptions coming from Italian luxury sports car makers Lamborghini and Ferrari. The specifications of the XJS compared well with both Italian cars; it was able to accelerate to 60mph in 7.6 seconds and had a top speed of 143mph.
This immaculate XJS-C HE was originally despatched to the franchised dealer Hatfields in Sheffield and was registered on 1st of August 1985. The car was then purchased by our vendor from Jaguar Heritage in Coventry in 2016, following an impressive restoration. The comprehensive list of works undertaken is detailed in the history file that accompanies this stunning and rare example of Jaguar’s modern classic. This Jaguar presents extremely well in the delightful colour combination of Cobalt Blue with a contrasting Doeskin interior. The low mileage reading of this car is believed to be accurate and adds kudos to this already desirable example. Offered to auction with a V5C registration document and a valid MoT test certificate (although exempt by age), this XJS is an opportunity to purchase one of the finest examples of the marque available in today’s market.
