During World War II, the production of cars came to a complete standstill for most brands, including Jaguar. Fortunately, the English automaker entered the wartime with a strong product portfolio and an impeccable reputation, enabling them to start production of the Mk IV immediately at the end of the war.

This particularly stylish example was built on June 4, 1948, and delivered 24 days later through the dealer on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood. We are dealing with a beautiful Mark IV 3.5 liter Drophead Coupe (DHC) with left-hand drive. The car was in the spotlight of the 'Behring Educational Institute' museum in California for a long time. In 1997, it was purchased by the Dutch owner, who had it stripped down completely. The car was then meticulously restored from the ground up under the watchful eye of a specialist hence its current absolutely stunning looks.

The Mark IV is a beautiful car in every form, but the elegance of the Drophead Coupe is truly unimaginably exquisite. The car's bodywork has been meticulously maintained, with all panels beautifully aligned. The chrome on the bodywork is immaculate and looks as good as new. The convertible top is of high-quality and fits perfectly in every way. Naturally, it is easy to operate, as one would expect from a luxury British car.

During the restoration, the interior was completely reupholstered with great attention to originality. The interior features a beautiful blue color scheme with exquisite materials. The abundant presence of burr walnut wood has also been restored and is in impeccable condition. The instruments and controls all look stunning and function perfectly. The carpets have also been completely replaced and fit beautifully throughout.

The technology under the hood consists of the robust 3.5-liter straight-six engine, which in this case is mated to a four-speed manual transmission. The chassis and brakes were completely renewed during the restoration, contributing to the excellent driving characteristics of the 'Big Cat.' The engine revs smoothly and works quietly and efficiently. While the Mark IV may look like an almost pre-war design, its driving behaviour is very modern, thanks to Jaguar's extensive engineering prowess.

The Jaguar comes with a Heritage Trust Certificate. The car is in excellent condition, both mechanically and aesthetically, and is ready for many years of splendid open-air Jaguar driving pleasure.
