Conditions
It is March 13, 1961 and a climate of great tension reigns in Browns Lane, because the jewel to be presented at the Geneva Motor Show is called the Jaguar E Type. Rivers of ink to describe in newspapers all over the world every nuance and every innovation present on the latest addition to Jaguar, designed by the Sarthe wind in equal measure as by Malcolm Sayer's pencil. Today we are proud to present the iconic, timeless and unparalleled piece of history, the Jaguar E Type 4.2 Spider MK1 from 1965. The conditions are amazing, competition worthy. Specifically, we are talking about a single owner since 1968. Found on behalf of the latter in Colorado by Veniero Molari, trusted consultant for the historic cars of Count Vittorio Zanon of Valgiurata. Only one owner also in America. The previous owner of the Jaguar was a NASA technician. Customs cleared in 1988. Upon arrival in Italy, the interior and soft top were completely redone and the mechanics overhauled. Recently it was completely repainted as it was starting to show signs of aging. Jaguar E-Type series 1, 4.200, spider (Open Two Seaters), left-hand drive, produced on 06/29/1965 and sold on 07/12/1965 in the United States (New York Jaguar Cars) where it was purchased by the first American owner, in the Silver Blue color with Black interior. According to the Jaguar Heritage present, the total correspondence and accuracy of all chassis, engine, gearbox and body numbers can be seen. It is one of the first examples built with the 4.2 engine which retains the classic tail with the lights mounted above the bumpers. The car also comes with ASI certification. Since the completion of the works, the car has only traveled a few kilometres. This example is the first to fit more comfortable seats (compared to the first bucket seats) which allowed drivers to find a better driving position: the first series of the E-Type, so-called flat floor, it is in fact ill-suited to tall people. The first series with 4.2 engine is, among the E-Types, the "best" version thanks to the pure and elegant aesthetics of the first series, with notable improvements in mechanics. The second generation engine, the 4,200 inline 6-cylinder with 265 horsepower, allows you to gain torque and flexibility in everyday use, both in the city and on long motorway journeys: among the improvements introduced there was also the 4-speed Jaguar gearbox all synchronized with “Moss” gearbox which is harder and older for such a car; the braking system always consists of four Dunlop disc brakes, flanked at the rear by a self-locking differential. The open version of the most beautiful car in the world according to Enzo Ferrari, the OTS, with its clean lines retains the typical elegance of the E-Type which is also found in the coupé: however the spider is more usable and pleasant, especially in summer season where much of the heat produced by the engine compartment escapes outside and not into the passenger compartment. After Jaguar declared that it will change course towards a radical post-thermal change, this example, after the success and importance acquired to date, will continue to have a dizzying rise in terms of its economic and historical value.
Curiosity
The first examples, built between 1961 and 1962, were defined as flat floor because they had a flat floor at the feet, limiting the space available. Subsequently the fund was modified to increase habitability.
