This very special Humber Super Snipe V was delivered new in 1965 to the first Dutch owner. The first owner had the car until 1977, after which it was sold to the 2nd owner who was also the father-in-law of the first owner.
The 2nd owner enjoyed the Humber until 2005, and then sold it to the last owner who owned the car until 2023.
In October 1964, the final Series V version of the Saloon underwent an entire body restyling with a flat roofline and rear window, and importantly, a higher windscreen.
Twin Zenith Stromberg 175CD carburettors were fitted, together with a Harry Weslake tuned cylinder head, increasing power to 137 HP and synchromesh was fitted to all gears in the gearbox - on previous versions this was only on 3rd and 4th gear . Major changes were made to the front and rear suspension and these required less maintenance. The sound insulation was also further improved to make the car even more comfortable.
The Humber Super Snipe is a fantastic car for traveling comfortably from A to B and even today the 2,989 cc 6 cylinder engine is a pleasure to drive.
Our car is in a very nice, but above all original condition. The car is far too beautiful for a complete restoration, and it would be a shame to completely restore the car. The interior is in very good condition and still looks very nice, especially considering its age. The woodwork is also very beautiful and well cared for.
The paint could use some attention, provided this bothers you of course. This is actually the perfect car to enjoy driving and to see in a few years what you will or will not do to the car.
The car comes with the original purchase invoice, complete history from the first owner to now with the owners overview.
