In 1916 Hudson debuted their new record-breaking Super-Six engine. While records were regularly broken in the early days of the automobile, the 288 cu-in Super-Six powered Hudson was otherworldly. A 34-page sales brochure that year would cover the exploits of their cars, perhaps the most impressive of which was an average speed of 74.8 miles per hour maintained for 1,819 miles. In fact, records were set at Daytona Beach (102.53 mph Stock Car Chassis speed record), Pikes Peak (18 minutes and 24 seconds), and a fresh New York City to San Francisco trans-continental record that stood for 15 years. Naturally proud of their new engine, Hudson fitted it to their wide range of cars that included Roadsters, Phaetons, and Limousines.

This 1918 Hudson Super-Six Limousine was smartly marketed by Hudson not only for its powerful engine but for its versatility as well. Due to its luxurious nature and private divider window, it could be piloted by a liveried chauffeur. Alternatively, it was not so large that it could not be owner driven. Previous research indicates that the Limousine was under 40-year continuous ownership until 2015. The car had been restored with dark maroon and black two-tone paint, equipped with fender-mounted driver's side spare and a side-view mirror. Wooden artillery wheels with maroon body-color highlights are fitted with wide whitewall tires to complete the thoroughly vintage look. The interior features light grey cloth upholstery in both the driver's and very comfortable passenger's compartment with privacy blinds and side-mount flower vases. This Hudson Limousine is offered from 10-year ownership as a beloved example of a Super-Six-powered Hudson in an uncommon and charming body type.
