The Honda Integra Type R has rightfully entered motoring history as one of the best Japanese sports cars of all time. An icon for an entire generation of enthusiasts with its 8,000 rpm VTEC engine, it is without doubt one of the most desirable cars today as it was in the 1990s. The 1,800 cc V Tec engine was carefully assembled by selected technicians and was able to rev to 8000 rpm with thrilling progression. Thanks to the VTEC system with three variable-lift camshafts governed by hydraulic actuators, the Integra Type R has a mild nature at low revs, capable of a jolt-free pick-up from 1300 revs and a ferocious character once the 5,000 revs are exceeded.
The Integra Type R has set the standard thanks to its impeccable chassis, strong handling and a set-up that is nothing short of sensational: smooth but responsive, sporty but tractable at the same time, it has made this little coupe a true supercar hunter. Very few cars have been able to combine extreme sportiness with everyday usability without invasive and complex electronics. The Integra Type R is rightfully in the legend of sports cars.
This 1998 DC-2 has covered less than 50,000 km and has only had three owners since new. The first was the Honda dealer VAuto of Vercelli who registered it in February 1998. In January 1999, the car was sold to its first private owner who kept it until 2015 and after having covered approximately 35,000 km. The owner, a Honda enthusiast, has kept the car maniacally until today, performing regular maintenance on the car. This Integra Type R retains its original service book, its double keys and its original paintwork. Used by an amateur and impeccably maintained, this Integra Type R will only continue to represent the best of Japanese cars wherever it goes.
