Description
Chassis No. E7FH152023
With Ford looking to capture the strong demand for a new sports car by the young soldiers now returning home from World War II, the cover was excitedly lifted in 1955 for the Thunderbird. This new T-Bird, less of a sports car and more of a personal luxury coupe was originally offered until 1957, with these smaller body cars now fondly referred to as "Baby Birds". Along with a new design for the 1957 model year bringing a reconfigured front fascia, Ford also decided to address some of the performance concerns with the Thunderbird by offering this high performance 'E-Code' variant. Offered exclusively for 1957, approximately 1,499 'E-Codes' are said to have been produced. Meticulously restored in 2017, this vehicle is finished in a striking Coral Sand exterior complimented by well finished brightwork throughout. Featuring a reupholstered White interior complete with a Town and Country radio it also features power windows and a power seat. These tremendously popular, limited-production models offer a higher compression version of the 312 cu-in 16-valve OHV V8 fed by twin Holley four-barrel carburetors resulting in an impressive 270 horsepower. Mated to a two-speed automatic transmission, this Thunderbird can be enjoyed by all.
