Description

Offered here is a 1970 Ford Capri 1600 GT that has recently been discovered in a building purchased by our vendor. According to the buff logbook accompanying the Capri, this example was first registered in May 1970 and originally finished in Gold. Today it appears that the GT has been subject to a good quality body restoration in the past with a colour change to striking orange, and some period-style features added including front and rear spoilers, bonnet bulge and a set of 13" RS alloy wheels.

Mechanically, the car has been upgraded with a 2-litre engine which also appeared to be fully overhauled and surprisingly, after over 20 years storage, when checked over with fresh fuel, oil and plugs, it started and sounded healthy. Although this interesting garage find has been partially re-commissioned further work will be required and all inspections are welcome.

Accompanying the Capri is a history file including the aforementioned original log book showing five previous owners. The car has not been added to the new DVLA system yet and will need to be updated correctly by the new owner. Also forming part of the sale are a selection of spares including the original steering wheel, sun-visors, mirrors and other mechanical items.

Offered at 'No Reserve', this is a great opportunity for someone with the right skills, or imagination, to take ownership of this rewarding project and complete to your own standards and desired finish.
