The Panda 4x4 is much more than a trendy car on social media: it was and is the 4x4 for everyone. A tireless worker and great ally of those who lived in inaccessible areas, it was the first utility car to transform itself into an effective four-wheel-drive vehicle. Formidable in many terrains, it served not only as a faithful companion to many workers but also to the army and rescue units. much more than a trendy car on Instagram. In 1986, Fiat introduced the Supernova 4x4, which retained the same rigid rear axle configuration with longitudinal leaf springs and hydraulic shock absorbers: although this was an outdated solution at the time, it retained this configuration unchanged until 2003!

The Sisley version was introduced as a special edition in 1987 when Fiat commissioned Sisley, a company owned by Benetton, to design a more attractive and youthful version of the 4x4. Not limiting itself to the application of a few logos, Sisley designed an interior with a new and eye-catching look. Initially only available in Bordeaux Red, Quartz Grey, Tropic Green, with rims painted in Antique Ivory, the beautiful Agadir Blue was later added in 1988. It was so successful that in 1989 Fiat produced a second series of the 4x4 Sisley, which was even better finished and beautiful. This series featured an ivory-coloured interior, a larger, painted bonnet air intake and numerous details that distinguished it from the previous series. The Sisley 2 went out of production in 1991 and was replaced by the Trekking.

This 1990 example is certainly one of the most original in circulation and has undergone numerous interventions to ensure its excellent state of preservation. Built in July 1990, this Panda 4x4 Sisley 2 was delivered to Spain on 31 December 1990 and boasts numerous optional extras:

033 engine oil gauge
050 odometer
093 right-hand traffic lights
779 wet battery
856 Spanish market specification
030 athermic windows
034 reinforced laminated windscreen
207 clock
210 metallic paint

It is finished in Bordeaux Metallic 183 and still has the optionally preserved interior 366 in grey fabric. The car is preserved and has never been repainted: with the exception of the bonnet, the car is all first paint. It retains a high level of originality, which can be deduced from the many original parts that are present and bear the correct canoe logos for the Sisley series, such as on the front and rear grilles, mud flaps and side badges, seat belts and hubcaps. It still has the painted air intake on the original front bonnet as well as the optional clock, the original JECO Fiat branded inclinometer and the original radio with its owner's manual.

The interior has never been changed and still has the seats of the period, recognisable by the faux leather side panels with a 'cinnamon velvet' centre and real leather cadenzas in a daisy pattern. The cockpit headliner is still in the original grey microfibre, as is the grey cockpit carpet and the badge in front of the gearbox. Completing the equipment of this splendid Sisley 2 are the double keys, the complete set of booklets, the booklet tow hitch and new stickers, number plate holder and key ring from the dealer who sold it from new, Manresauto in Manresa.

The car has Spanish documents and remained with its first owner until 2019. In June 2022, the current owner underwent a series of maintenance works on the mechanics that can be proved by a regular invoice. The car also has a set of new tyres with less than 100km on the clock. Having been kept in a dry climate for most of its life, this Sisley 2 is undoubtedly one of the best examples on the market to date.

A great Italian car that has conquered the world, this 4x4 will enjoy a well-deserved rest from its next owner.
