The Fiat Ottovù marks an important chapter in the history of the Turin company, which attempts to forcefully return to the sports car segment and, having to deal with its direct rival AlfaRomeo, which was enjoying success with the new 1900.
The commercial management had to clash with Giacosa, who was not in favor of the project, given that it would have stolen resources needed in other sectors.
They relied on Aeronautical Engineer Luigi Fabio Rapi, who designed the bodywork which covered a tubular chassis and a 2lt V8 engine.
It was not very successful given the production costs, and so, within a short time, the project was abandoned.
The various chassis and engines built were later delivered to various coachbuilders, who thus had the opportunity to give space to their creativity, creating coupés and spiders that still remain timeless today.
The car built by Zagato is certainly one of the sportiest, but Balbo also created unique and fascinating berlinettas, not to forget Ghia with the Supersonics.
Many ottovus were used by Siata to also create sports cars.
This example of Ottovù that we present was built on 08/30/1954 and its certificate of origin is dated 09/19/1954.
First registered in 1956, it was one of the last three produced.
This car stands out because it has, since new, the front end of the first series.
It has had 5 different license plates to date and is still registered in Italy.
It has twelve previous owners, as evidenced by the chronological certificates that accompany it.

From 2007 to 2008 it underwent a restoration, which included the mechanics and bodywork, preserving many parts of the interior, such as the seats which retain their charm.
The car does not have a sporting track record and among its previous owners we find historians
of motoring Tito Anselmi and Norberto Ferretti, of the well-known shipyards.
It is presented today in its original acrylic painted metallic light blue livery.
The current owner, a well-known collector, participated in the current MilleMiglia and has also exhibited this masterpiece of Italian art at Villa d'Este, Salvarola and Schloss Dyck, achieving category victories.
A car of unquestionable charm, which fits well into any collection, an excellent admission ticket to the major international events, with the pleasure of driving a one-of-a-kind car with the performance of a true sports car.
