This very rare 1957 Convertible Sliding Window Fiat 600 is a rare first series, with the typical “sliding windows” of this model and the sunroof, as per factory standard.
It is therefore an original “convertible” and not a replica. It features a very rare combination, since you can find one of the two characteristics on the first series, but not both.

The car is from 1957, and thus from one of the last Fiat 600 chassis with sliding windows, when Fiat production was already beginning to install some features of the next series, to be marketed a few months later, such as the much more comfortable folding seats instead of the fixed ones.

It belonged to just two owners, the first was a lady born in 1914, and the second a classic car collector from 2005 until we found it.

The body was completely repainted just in 2005, the car was already very healthy and there was no need to replace the sheet metal but only a light coating due to the discolouration of the original paint.

Although the car had been used sporadically at weekends and occasionally started up after we bought it, we noticed that it was emitting white smoke when accelerating, due to oil combustion and poor piston ring seal. We then completely rebuilt the engine, with new rings, pistons, timing system, spark plugs, sleeves, filters, air conveyor, engine mounts, etc. All documented by invoices and photos. The engine is now brand new, still running in, with 0 km and ready for a new life!

The car comes with an original iron number plate and registration document with pages.
