Description
With its 2.5 litre inline 6, a 4-speed gearbox and 12 volt electrical system, the type 522, shown for the first time in 1931, presented the upper middle class from Fiat automobiles. The “C” was available with a short wheelbase and the “L” with a long wheelbase whereas the “S” provided an additional 10 horsepower. The saloon offered, with its short wheelbase and folding roof has, according to its VIN, been imported into Switzerland already as a new car and was first registered in 1933. The history of this imposing Berlina is not known but apparently it has been restored several years ago and equipped with a modern dynamo as well as an electric fuel pump. In 2016 the 522 was taken over by its last owner and used for occasional club outings. After his passing, the family has decided to sell the Fiat. The car is driving well, the coachwork shows areas of paint peeling off or scratched and the interior showing normal signs of use. The last veteran MOT was completed in May 2022.
