Description

Fiat 131 Abarth 2000 TC Volumetrico from 1984 in a good condition.

The vehicle has been imported from Italy into Spain; it is a very scarce original two-door Volumetrico. These cars were assembled by Abarth when Fiat finalised the production of the 131 series. About 200 cars were made, but only about 22 of them had two doors. This car is one of them.

The Volumetrico compressor is the largest that Fiat installed, equal to that of the Lancia 037 Stradale. The car was fully restored about ten years ago by the previous owner, who owned a restoration shop.

The restoration was comprehensive. The fenders, the engine hood, the front spoiler and the rear trunk lid are made of fibre. These are not original, but the change has been certified in the documentation, made by the owner who restored it.

As far as the principal flaws, the trunk lid is a bit curved although it closes perfectly (this can be seen in the photos), and there is also a small hole in a rear wheel arch caused by some chemical component of the fibre, which can also be seen in the photos.

All the instrumentation works perfectly. The main clock face is not original; it is identical except for the colour of the numbers (white instead of green). The dials on the centre console are original, in green colour, and they are also in perfect working order.

The original front seats are in storage and will be delivered with the car; recently upholstered Recaro seats in perfect condition are installed in their place. It is equipped for installing Terratrip or Blunic, which means that it has probes and wiring.

The exhaust was custom made three years ago; the car has a beautiful sound that is not irritating. Iconic 'Alitalia' decoration, it has also received a coating of lacquer. Logically, considering its use over the years, it has few defects and little wear.

The engine was serviced during the restoration, and since then it has been driven very few kilometres, without a slightest problem. The mileage shown on the odometer is the mileage travelled since the restoration, since it was reset to zero.

The car has only been used in half a dozen classic rally events and a few car shows. Suspensions and brakes are in perfect condition; it is ready to be enjoyed. This Classic Car is for sale on Catawiki. To have more information or to place a bid click on the "BID NOW" button.
