Intended as a successor to Ferrari’s earlier Berlinetta Boxer series, the Testarossa launched in 1984 to great fanfare. While similar to the outgoing 512 BBi at first glance—chiefly due to its wedge shape, dictated by the position of the rear-mid-mounted engine—the Testarossa went one step further, with sleek Pininfarina-penned lines and a marked increase in power.

The longitudinally mounted, 4.9-litre flat-12 found at the heart of the supercar was mated to a five-speed manual and could accelerate the Ferrari from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds. While not the fastest of its contemporaries, the Testarossa found enduring fame among collectors and the public for its numerous film and video game appearances—notably starring in Miami Vice and Outrun.

The example offered here left the Ferrari factory in Rosso Corsa set against an attractive tan leather interior, a combination that it retains today. First registered for the road in 1986, the Ferrari joined The Aurora Collection in 2005.
