Description

The 1995 Ferrari F50, chassis number 3355, is number 17 out of the 349 produced worldwide and one of only 31 finished in the striking Giallo Modena. Delivered new to the prestigious Matsuda Collection, this F50 comes complete with all books, tools, and original accessories, showcasing its careful preservation.

At the heart of the F50 lies a 4.7-liter naturally aspirated Tipo 130B V12 engine, a direct descendant of the power unit used in the 1990 Ferrari 641 Formula One car. This engine powered Alain Prost to the brink of the World Championship and later found success in the Ferrari 333 SP, dominating the IMSA World Sports Car Championship with victories at the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring.

The F50 made its American debut at Texas World Speedway, coinciding with an IMSA WSC event. The first example was delivered to Giuseppe Risi, a storied Ferrari racing entrant and owner of Ferrari of Houston. Alongside notable customer Paul Frame, Risi showcased the F50's capabilities on the Central Texas oval and road course, thrilling clients and media members alike in September 1995.

Ferrari enlisted their long-time design partner, Pininfarina, with Lorenzo Ramaciotti spearheading the creation of the F50's body. Departing from the F40's design, the F50 featured a pointed nose inspired by Formula One cars, long, swooping lines with side air inlets, and a dramatic, integrated one-piece rear wing. The result was a bold and aggressive design that stood out against competitors like the Jaguar XJ220 and McLaren F1 in the race for the title of "world's fastest production car."

As the first V12 Ferrari Supercar, the F50 was an instant sensation. Its direct lineage to Ferrari's racing heritage and its status as the last Ferrari Supercar to feature a 6-speed manual transmission made it a collector's dream. The F50’s over-the-top styling, roaring V12 engine, and exclusive production numbers commemorated Ferrari’s fiftieth anniversary, cementing its place as one of the most recognizable and desirable cars in the world.
