The Ferrari 550 heralded a return to the brand’s quintessential front-V12, rear-wheel-drive layout after a 23-year hiatus, last seen in the 365 GTB/4 Daytona. In the year 2000, Ferrari introduced a roadster variant of the 550, the Barchetta —a name rooting back to the brand’s original open top cars. Of 3,500 Ferrari 550 models built, only 448 were Barchettas.
