Description
The Ferrari 550 Maranello was in production from 1996 to 2001. This ca marked Ferrari's return to a front-engined layout for its 2-seater 12-cylinder model, 23 years after the 365 GTB/4 Daytona had been replaced by the mid-engined Berlinetta Boxer. After 30 months of development, the Ferrari 550 Maranello was unveiled in July 1996 at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany. The Pininfarina styled GT had a 5,5 Litre V12 engine, producing 480 bhp, and offered impressive performance with a 320 km/h topspeed and a sprint from 0-100 km/h in 4,4 seconds. That was fast in the nineties ! In total 3,083 units of the 550 Maranello were produced.
This fantastic looking example in stunning Giallo Modena was delivered new in Germany in 1998, and came to its second owner in Belgium in 2003. The car has full service history, and comes with all books and tools. Driving this big V12 GT is a bit of an experience. It has loads of torque and power, and shifting the gears in the traditional Ferrari "H" pattern is a delight. The Maranello is now equipped with a glorious sounding Tubistyle sports exhaust, but the original exhaust will also come with the car. But I doubt if the next owner will ever put it back as the actual soundtrack fits the car so well...
