Unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in 1976 and powered by a 4.8-liter four-cam V12, the 400 GT reaffirmed Ferrari's desire to compete with the best luxury sports cars in the world. Its spacious, comfortable interior, luxuriously finished and stretched in leather up to the headliner, makes it a formidable GT ready to face long distances, while its 12-cylinder engine associated with a manual gearbox gives it sportiness and driving pleasure never before seen on a GT in its class. By the time production of the final version, the 412, ended in 1989, the more refined Ferrari 2 + 2 had been in production for 17 years, its exclusivity resulting in rarely more than 200 units sold each year.
Produced in only 33 units in 1979, our 400i is one of the most sought after. Indeed, the total production of Ferrari 400i equipped with the manual gearbox does not exceed 421 copies, which is one of the rarest cars from Maranello! Issued on November 9, 1979 and displaying a little over 58,000 km con the odometer, it was restored in 2017. According to its Ferrari certificate and the invoices attached to the file, it was repainted in its Blu Ribot Mettallizzato Italver color. Well aligned, its body shows no signs of impact, only its rear bumper having cracked slightly over time. Presenting very well, its 15 inch rims are mounted on new Vredestein Sprint Classic tires.
The upholstery has been completely redone for an amount of € 9,000, scrupulously respecting the finishing details specific to MY 79, recognizable by its blue stripes on the seats and backrests. In the end, the alliance of these two shades combines elegance and discretion, two qualities specific to the model. The Ferrari Certificate attached to the file confirmed that this car was well equipped with its engine and original gearbox. On June 26, 2019, a major overhaul was carried out at Garage Milliancourt with the adjustment of the distribution chain, the draining of all fluids, the adjustment of the front axle with the change of all the silentblocs and the control of the braking system.
