Description
#140647 was ordered new from Graypaul by prolific Ferrari collector Sir Anthony Bamford of JCB Excavators. Unfortunately when the order was made, Graypaul were informed that 360 CS production had ceased and therefore it was not possible to supply him with a car.
However as a long standing customer of Grapypaul business and prolific Ferrari buyer, Sir Anthony was insistent upon having a new Challenge Stradale and surprisingly Ferrari agreed to build a car for him. Therefore, this car is the last, 360 CS built. Finished in Nero Daytona with the painted stripe the car also came with red calipers and black 4 point harnesses and with the desirable lexan window option.
Upon arrival from the factory, Sir Anthony asked the car to remain unregistered in storage, at Graypaul Nottingham. After 12 months had elapsed, Graypaul carried out an annual service and after 24 months the dealer contacted Sir Anthony to advise a second service was due. At that time Sir Anthony thought Graypaul were mistaken as he believed that he no longer owned a 360 CS. It seemed within the inventory of cars within his collection the CS had been forgotten! However after establishing that Graypaul were storing a car that belonged to him, the dealer was asked if they wanted to buy the car back off him, which mindful of the car's desirability was an easy decision for the garage to agree to make a deal.
The car was then sold to it's first registered keeper, Mr David Robson in June 2007. Graypaul maintained the car during his period of ownership and took the car back in March 2009 against a 430 Scuderia. The car at that time had covered 1500 miles.
The next owner was Eric Payne of London who kept the car for a few years and then sold the car to Mr Ross of Ventnor on the Isle of Wight. Meridien Modena were now handling the maintenance on the car and arranged for Ferrari Classiche certification. In January 2016 the car had recorded 2034 miles and 3 years later the mileage recorded was a mere 2444 miles. The next owners were Ian Yuill of Northampton, Terry Handley of Ewshot, Joseph Cooper of Winchester and more recently Chris Berry.
On the 27 December 2023 at the last MOT - the car had covered 2,990 miles and has done no mileage since. The car has full Ferrari service history and with it's low mileage, Classiche certification is one of if the not THE ultimate collector grade Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale.
