HISTORY

The Ferrari Challenge Stradale is one of the most revered modern Ferraris, celebrated for its track-focused engineering and raw driving experience. Introduced in 2003 as a lightweight, race-inspired variant of the 360 Modena, the Challenge Stradale was built in very limited numbers—approximately 1,288 units globally—making it highly sought-after by collectors and enthusiasts alike.

What sets the Challenge Stradale apart is its uncompromising commitment to performance. Ferrari engineers drew heavily from the brand’s racing pedigree, incorporating advanced aerodynamics, extensive use of lightweight materials like carbon fiber, and a recalibrated suspension for optimal track handling. Its 3.6-liter V8 engine produces 425 horsepower, and with a weight reduction of around 110 kg compared to the standard 360 Modena, the car delivers exhilarating acceleration and precise handling. The signature F1-derived gearbox and carbon-ceramic brakes further enhance its race-car feel, making every drive an immersive experience.

Beyond its remarkable performance, the Challenge Stradale is coveted for its exclusivity. As the market for modern classics continues to grow, the Ferrari Challenge Stradale stands out not just as a car to be driven, but as a collector’s gem. Its rarity, performance pedigree, and the visceral driving experience it offers make it one of the most desirable Ferraris from the early 2000s. With its value steadily increasing, it has become a future classic, sought after by those who appreciate both its racing DNA and timeless Ferrari craftsmanship.

OUR Challenge Stradale

This Challenge Stradale is one of approximately 1,288 examples produced. Delivered new in Italy through Sa.Mo.Car SpA in May 2004, it features a stunning Blu NART exterior paired with a Cuoio leather interior and blue harnesses—possibly a one-off configuration. According to the Challenge Stradale Registry, only around seven cars worldwide were finished in Blu NART, with four in European specification.

Originally ordered by Lucio Presta of Rome, the car covered around 30,000 km under his ownership before being sold in 2015. The current owner acquired the Blu NART Challenge Stradale from its second private owner in July 2021 and has since added 6,000 km, maintaining the car meticulously. Over €10,000 was invested in servicing at Ferrari Blöchl in Munich in May and June 2024. The work completed includes:

Installation of a new right fuel pump
Comprehensive service according to Ferrari’s maintenance plan, including replacement of belts, engine and gearbox oil, filters, brake fluid, hydraulic steering oil, and air conditioning service
Renewal of camshaft seals and valve cover gaskets for both cylinder banks
Replacement of throttle valve connection hoses
New mass air flow sensors
Replacement of corroded mounting screws on front brake calipers
Replacement of the left-side parking brake caliper
Adjustment and testing of the parking brake on a brake test stand
Replacement of the front left tie rod end
Replacement of the front and rear axle stabilizers
Replacement of the left drive shaft boots (gearbox and wheel side)

Additionally, the car is fitted with brand-new tires. In December 2022, spark plugs were replaced and the “sticky buttons” were resolved.

Currently presenting in superb condition both cosmetically and mechanically, this Challenge Stradale has been professionally detailed and has a modest mileage of just 37,600 km. It is accompanied by its original toolkit, car cover, seat covers, and two keys. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a road-legal race car, built in extremely limited numbers on Ferrari’s challenge car assembly line. Given its rarity and condition, we believe this model is poised for a significant increase in value in the near future.
