At the end of the 1990s, Ferrari wanted to present the market with a car that would best represent the beginning of the new millennium. Thus it was that the 360 Modena was presented in 1999. This immediately struck with its unprecedented line, which was a clear departure from the F355. It was longer and taller, but the all-aluminium 'space frame' monocoque chassis (thanks to the collaboration with the American ALCOA) made it stiffer and lighter than the F355.
The biggest differences with its bigger sister lay in the design by Pininfarina, which set aside the square lines in favour of softer, more harmonious lines. The nose was completely changed, the recognisable central grille was replaced by two side openings, the famous pop-up headlights were replaced by two completely fairing light clusters with a new Xenon lighting system. The doors were finally clean and very elegant. The rear was stunning with the two red round headlights, the large chrome-plated Prancing Horse positioned in the centre of the rear mask and four chrome-plated exhaust tailpipes two on each side. You only had to look up a little to see the rear window through which you could admire the 5-valve-per-cylinder V8 Ferrari engine with the F131 design number (the latest evolution of the engine called DINO and later replaced by the F136 power unit), capable in this version of delivering an impressive 400 bhp at 8,500 rpm of pure power. For Ferrari, this small sports car represented the evolution of tradition and marked the beginning of a new era for the Maranello berlinetta.
This magnificent Ferrari 360 Spider F1 is presented in its distinctive original Nero (black) colour with a fine Ferrari Red leather interior. The car has covered only 46,800 km in 21 years and has been registered with the ASI Certificate of Historic Significance, which also allows a 50% reduction in the ownership tax. It comes with all its manuals, including the service booklet, with which it was sold new and the original double keys. The bodywork is in excellent condition, both aesthetically and mechanically, and is ready to be launched on the road immediately. Various documented maintenance work has recently been carried out, such as: complete brake master cylinder, brake oil pan, electronic brake system bleeding, replacement of cooling fan control, as well as a general inspection of the car. A car destined sooner or later to enter the Olympus of 'Icon' Ferraris.
