Description

Designed by Pininfarina, the Ferrari 308 GTB was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in 1975. The 308 GTB was the successor to the illustrious Dino 246 and unlike its predecessor was equipped with a 2.9L V8 with 255 hp on European models. This car comes from America and therefore has a 240 hp V8 due to the stricter emission rules compared to Europe.

It is also true that for the American market, the 308 GTB models were equipped with a conventional 'wet sump' lubrication system instead of the 'dry sump' lubrication system supplied in Europe.

The 308 GTB and GTS models had a tubular frame with a separate body and independent suspension and are technically comparable to the Dino 308 GT4.

Two years after the introduction of the 308 GTB, the 308 GTS was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show, it was fitted with a Targa top. All 3,219 308 GTS cars ever built were equipped with the 'wet sump' lubrication system and all have a steel body. This is in contrast to the 308 GTB, 808 units were built with a fiberglass body.

The 308 GTS offered here has an extensive history supporting the Ferrari’s excellent condition. The paintwork in 'Rosso Corsa' is beautiful and deep in colour, in good condition apart from slight signs of wear. The black leather interior with dark blue carpets has a beautiful patina with only some light wear.

Please note: The air conditioning and the electric window control do not work at the moment.

This Ferrari 308 GTS is in very good condition. The last major service was carried out on 8 February 2022 at 19,149 miles. In addition to changing the engine oil, cardan oil and coolant, the toothed belts were replaced including tensioners and bearings together with various water hoses, petrol hoses and lights all around. The spark plugs were also replaced, including part of the cabling. The total amount on the invoice included is for just over €3,300 including VAT.
