The sleek styling of the classic California Spyder, with just the right combination of aggression & elegance, was surely the zenith of the 250 GT production.
Hand crafted by Scaglietti in either steel, or aluminium to special order, to a design by Pininfarina, just 49 Long wheelbase (LWB), & 55 Short wheel base (SWB) examples left the factory between 1957-1963. Today, the California Spyder is arguably the most desirable of all roadgoing 250 GT Ferrari’s, & ranks as one of the most beautiful cars of all time.

During the late 80’s, this superbly crafted California Spyder, took as a donor vehicle, the mechanically similar Ferrari 250 GTE. The chassis was shortened by Emilio Garcia (Ex Autokraft), with additional assistance from Maranello Concessionaires in shortening the propshaft. Engine work at the time, included preparation to competition specification, , with hemispherical racing pistons. The four speed gearbox is fitted with the desirable overdrive ratio to allow relaxed high speed cruising on long continental trips, something key to the original owners brief.

After two years of development, the car was entrusted to renowned Ferrari specialist Terry Hoyle, where the California Spyder’s coachwork was fashioned in aluminium using an original car to enable absolute accuracy to be achieved.

This striking example is presented in Left Hand Drive specification, liveried in a period Grigio paint, with Nero hide, & equipped with Borrani wire wheels. A stunning motor car which is sure to give its fortunate new owner many miles of enjoyment & much admiration along the way.
