Description
-White with Red leather interior, Grey carpeting, Rare factory hardtop with sunroof, 3.0 Liter V12 engine, 4-speed manual transmission, Matching Numbers, Restored, Documented by Massini, Ferrari Classiche Certified, Multiple Platinum award winner, One of only 200 Series II Pininfarina Cabriolets built.
The chassis of this car was delivered on February 14, 1961 at the Carrozzeria Pininfarina plant in Torino and was completed on April 8, 1961. The car was painted in Amaranto Roma coachwork with Natural Tan vinyl and leather interior and was supplied with a factory hardtop with a sunroof.
The 124th of 200 250 GT PF Series II Cabriolets constructed, in June 1961 it was delivered new to Ferrari dealer J. H. Keller AG in Zurich, Switzerland. It was immediately sold by Keller to the first owner Mrs. Tora, the wife of a bank director resident in Zurich, Switzerland. Mrs. Tora sold the 250 in 1976 to the second owner, Ernst Wanzenried, resident in Bern, Switzerland. Wanzenried kept the car until 1991 when it was traded to well-known and respected Mario Bernardi, a dealer in Hann. Munden, Germany.
Mario Bernardi sold the 250 in 1995 to Reijnold van der Poele, resident in Joure, The Netherlands. After 10 years in Mr. Poele's ownership, the car was sold to Robert Weisenthal of New York in 2005 who displayed the unique Series II Cabriolet at the New York City Concours d'Elegance and at multiple Cavallino Classics in Florida. In 2008, Mr. Weisenthal sold the 250 to Mr. Joshua Teverow, a resident in Providence, RI and then passed ownership to Mr. Stephen A. Bruno, resident of Coconut Creek, FL. In 2009.
Upon Mr. Bruno's acquisition, he commissioned a show-quality restoration performed by The Creative Workshop in Dania Beach, Florida. During the two-year restoration, no stone was left unturned to make sure this 250 would be a leading concours contender. The elegant coachwork was finished in White with Red leather upholstery. The rare factory hardtop with sunroof was finished in contrasting Silver. During the restoration, this 250 received its Ferrari Red Book and was certified by the Ferrari Classiche Department, confirming all aspects of the car as a correct and authentic example retaining its original chassis, engine, coachwork, and other important components. Under Mr. Bruno's ownership, the car would then be shown at many prestigious events earning a multitude of awards including Ferrari Club of America events, The Quail, Cavallino Classic, Mar-a-Lago, Amelia Island, and Boca Raton.
Mr. Bruno sold the 250 in 2015 and it was acquired by another well-known collector owner. In keeping with the outstanding-flawless condition of this 250, the car was concours prepped with The Creative Workshop again, this time to be shown at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in 2016. This 250 GT can be seen in the background of the 2021 Tour d'Elegance Poster Celebrating "the Styling of Pininfarina" as used for the 2021 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
In 2021, this 250 GT Cabriolet was traded to Autosport Designs and subsequently, sold almost immediately, finding a new home with another good friend of ours, well-known collector and resident of Radnor, Pennsylvania.
Since, the 250 GT has been shown and awarded FCA "Platinum" status as well as being shown and awarded at the prestigious Radnor Hunt Concours d'Elegance. See the list of concours exhibitions below.
Most recently, the 250 GT was treated to a complete, photo documented engine rebuild at a cost of approximately $100,000 by a Pennsylvania marque specialist.
