Description
In the mid-60s European delivery vans were spacious but certainly not very powerful whether they came from Volkswagen, Ford, Renault, Citroën or Fiat. 60 hp usually was the performance epitome. For this reason, the NZZ newspaper decided to perform their morning deliveries with an American product and, with 140 horsepower and the optional 4 speed gearbox, the Dodge D100 proved rather more suitable for the task. The example offered is, so the vendor was told by the second owner when he bought the car in 1978, one of two examples ordered by the Zurich newspaper. The car received the necessary love and care over the last 47 years with the coachwork and the technical side overhauled and restored some years ago. Since the vendor - and third owner of the Dodge - never had the intention to sell his beloved van, all the work was performed without any receipts, but the results are clear to see. The interior is in lovely condition and before taken over by the vendor the rear bench from another example was installed and a radio with tape player was installed in the roof panel. Currently the D100 wagon is in good to the very good condition and will be sold with the latest veteran MOT from June 2022.
