Description
"The Jaguar XJ12 was a very special car but was surpassed by the Daimler variant of the impressive V12 engine. The ultimate version was the Vanden Plas which was the very pinnacle of opulence and grandeur. Aimed at the privileged and titled, peers, lords, social elite, the very wealthy, rock stars and celebrities alike it offered supreme luxury along with grace, pace and space. Providing a highly desirable alternative to the very best offerings from Mercedes-Benz and Rolls-Royce, with a top speed of nearly 150 mph and acceleration to match.
This fine example is only available due to ill health and presents extremely well in white with a black interior. Originally registered in August 1975, this rare Daimler has been sympathetically recommissioned and detailed for this sale. Works undertaken included an oil service, new filters, spark plugs, distributor cap and the fitting of a Lucas high torque starter motor. The cooling system wash flushed and refilled with the correct anti-freeze. This pleasant example is well equipped and includes a tilt and slide electric sunroof. Offered to auction with a V5 registration document, driver’s handbook, original brochure, various invoices, a service manual and spare keys, this rare Daimler would sit well in any collection.
