Description

We are pleased to offer the 1962 Cooper - Climax T62, a five time race winning chassis in the hands of legendary works driver, Bruce McLaren including winning the 1962 Australian Grand Prix.

Ordered in chassis form by Tommy Atkins with the initial plan of fitting a customer BRM P56 1.5 Litre V8 for Bruce McLaren drive it in non-championship F1 races that Cooper themselves were not interested to contest.

When the BRM was delayed the decision was made to fit a 2.7-litre Coventry Climax FPF engine for Bruce McLaren to race in the 1962/63 Tasman Series, where it raced in both a 2.5 and a 2.7-litre format by Bruce Mclaren and the Ecurie Australie Team of Lex Davison and Rocky Tresise.
Now fitted with a Crosthwaite & Gardiner spec 2.5-Litre Coventry Climax FPF as it ran in period, and a fresh Colotti T32.

With only a test day under its belt since a refresh at Hi-Tech Motorsport, this is an ideal opportunity not only to race at the forefront of the HGPCA, but to own the chassis that Bruce McLaren piloted to five race wins, including the Australian Grand Prix.
