Renowned' Queen of the Road', the 15 six will first have to prove itself. In Citroën production at the moment, it must represent the top of the range of Front Wheel Drive vehicles. Its birth in June 1938 is discreet, as is its very sober appearance according to the wish of P.J. Boulanger, the Citroën Boss, who wanted it to look like the 11. The engine is a magnificent 6-cylinder cast iron engine, 2.8l of displacement, developing 78 hp. The success of this "super traction" was legendary and his career lasted until 1955.
The story of this Traction 15/6 is very special and fun. In Belgium, the 4 and 6 cylinder Tractions are manufactured at the Forest factory and have their own characteristics, such as leather interior, grille mascot, Lambert-Nivelles wheels, etc. The manufacturer who ordered the new car with many additional accessories sold it to one of his compatriots who, in 1959, went on a trip with his whole family to England. On a wet road, he was hit by another motorist who had not anticipated his braking. The rear of the 15 is badly damaged but fortunately the occupants are all safe. The mechanic who recovers the damaged car probably has an idea in mind when he proposes to buy the wreck. This one turns out to be a true gifted of the torch. By taking a wreck of Vauxhall from the front, he begins a graft that seemed impossible! Fortunately, the axle of the 15 and all the mechanical parts are not affected. It cuts the back of the car while keeping the original doors intact. Once the transformation is complete, it continues a titanic work by modifying the front fenders to embed the headlights, giving the car a more modern look. Not a little proud of his work, he used it for a few years, before storing it in his garden where it was discovered in the 1980s by an English amateur. In 1984, the well-known collector of 15, Mr. Michon, bought it in exchange for 600 pounds sterling. A long restoration followed, and in 1989 the car was finally ready and running, equipped with interesting accessories such as an intake pipe with three carburettors. A 15 with a certain unique British accent and ready to go on a trip!
