Description
1933 CITROËN ROSALIE 8A BERLINE
French title
Chassis n° 827629
Engine n° F03811
- Older restoration from the chassis
- Original engine
- Robust mechanicals and comfortable interior
At the 1932 Paris Motor Show, Citroën renewed its range and the C4 and C6 were replaced by the “8”, “10” and “15” which were quickly named “Rosalie”. The newcomers feature the floating engine, and the last two gears were synchronized, greatly improving operating comfort.
This example is a 4-seater sedan, leaving the factory on August 24, 1933, as Peugeot Citroën DS Adventure has confirmed to us. Registered in 1984 in the Alpes Maritimes, it then passed into the hands of a collector from the Rhône region in 1987. It was in 1994 that the latter sold it to Mr. Thanry, when the car benefited from a comprehensive restoration, chassis upwards. Examination of the undercarriages suggests that the car has not been used much since, and the overall condition is very good. The engine is indeed the original one, but it will need to be restarted, as well as general overhaul and service, as the car has not been driven since 2012. This nice sedan is just waiting to be brought back on the road, its plush interior and its mechanical robustness will allow for long drives in the spirit of the early 1930s.
