Description
1930 CITROËN AC4 FAMILIALE
French title
Chassis n° 317134
Engine n° K3230
- Original engine
- Old restoration on a sound base
- Beautiful upholstery
After the B14, Citroën took another step forward with the AC4 and AC6, which would soon be referred to simply as the C4 and the C6. On these new models, the American influence appeared even more evident. The line was more modern, and the mechanicals much improved: the displacement went up to1628cc, with a three-bearing crankshaft and a water pump cooling system. As usual with Citroën, the new car was available in numerous body styles including the family limousine which offered 6 seats thanks to a pair of folding jump seats.
According to Peugeot Citroën DS Adventure, this station wagon left the factory on November 25, 1930, and it still has its original engine. It had been in the same ownership since 1984 when it joined the collection in 1994. The elegant limousine had already benefited from a restoration, including new black and cream paint, as well as beautiful cloth upholstery and woodwork, with the interior redone. It is fitted with 4 Michelin tires which apparently have never been used. We noticed that the upper rear part of the body opened up. Having not been driven since 2012, it will need a restart and a complete overhaul before it gets back on to the road. A reliable model, the C4 is an excellent car to enter the world of pre-war automobiles at a low cost.
