Description
In August 1971 the two CV Fourgonette turned into the AK 400 with an enlarged 2 cylinder boxer of 602cc and 26 horsepower and it immediately became a very popular small commercial hauler in France. Until replaced by the Acadiane in February 1978 more than 400’000 examples were sold. Bought as economical transport, the cars were not exactly treated with excessive sympathy, and most were just used and eventually perished. This is the reason why these days finding a good example has become rather difficult. Our car was delivered to its first owner on the 13th of December 1974 through. Garage France & Delaroche in Orléans. Records available show that the Citroën remained in Orléans until 2003 before being imported in Switzerland. After a most probably unsuccessful MOT attempt in October 2022, the AK400 received a complete restoration and now the little French transport vehicles presents itself in unbelievably good condition and the charming little “ute” will be sold with the last veteran MOT from July 2024.
