Description
"The Cadillac DeVille was originally a trim level and later a separate model dating right back to the late 40s, meaning ‘town car’ with the early models sporting a telephone in the glove compartment and a secretarial pad in the rear armrest. Advanced, even by today’s standards. Made famous by its huge sharp tailfins with dual bullet tail lights, the 1960’s Cadillacs had smoother, more restrained styling. In 1969, the DeVille was restyled with 1970 producing a face lifted front end and indeed the last year that pillared sedans were offered. 1974 saw the 210bhp, 8.2 litre, V8 introduced as the standard engine offering effortless, long distance cruising.
Imported into Rotterdam from new, this is an EU car right from the start. It was then acquired in the UK in 2007 and proved very reliable using, as it does, the same transmission, as the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow. Supplied with a black Everflex top and factory-fitted electric sunroof, it is well specified to include an electric boot closing system and a fully functioning eight-track stereo. Owned by a specialist US car collector in recent years, it was last MoT tested in October, 2018 and presents in good order throughout."
