Description
The 1st generation of the Cadillac Eldorado coupé from the mid- to late Sixties is truly one of Bill Mitchell‘s masterworks. With its gargantuan 7.7 litre V8, then the biggest series-produced car engine, delivering 355 SAE hp to an automatic gearbox via a “silent chain” and finally to the front wheels, the Fleetwood Eldorado was the ultimate luxury coupe from the famous Detroit brand. Power steering, electric windows and leather interior completed the luxury package and the cars are an absolute delight to drive! This imposing coupé with model year 1969 was delivered to GM France towards the end of 1968 and then most probably directly imported into Switzerland. First registration in the canton Schaffhausen took place in January 1969. Little is known about the history of the car until, in 2020, it was taken over by an enthusiast. He had the coachwork completely restored and a bare-metal respray executed. The interior was retrimmed with black leather and new carpets and a new headliner were fitted. The Cadillac received a set of new white wall tyres and the engine and the rest of the mechanics were thoroughly inspected and overhauled as required in order to pass the MOT. In 2022 this large and wonderfully elegant coupe finally found its way to the vendor and was added to his collection, but very little driven. With most probably only 144’300 kilometres, the Eldorado is in very good condition and will be sold with a Veteran MOT from March 2021.
