Description

1997 BMW E36 M3 EVO "SMG" convertible with 101.932km.

This beautiful E36 M3 is one of the relatively rare end-of-production cars fitted with the SMG I gearbox. According to the seller, only 452 units were manufactured with this SMG Cabriolet LHD configuration. This example was sold new in Germany back in 1997 and imported to Portugal in 1998, where it had two owners. It started life as a black car but then it was repainted in the current shade of blue to fit the owners taste. There is a video available for interested parties and seller is willing to pay for the shipping only to European destinations.

The E36 M3 Evo, was release as an improvement over the first E36 M3. The engine went from 3.0l to 3.2l and the power from 286hp to 321hp. The SMG gearbox was the first of its kind fitted to a BMW.

The exterior has been repainted in what looks like Avus Blue Metallic. The paint is in good condition and does not show many defects. It was never involved in any accident and was only painted by preference. The rims are one of the most beautiful designs that were available for this model, the Style 24 wheels. The front splitter was repainted in the exterior shade of blue.

The interior is in very good condition. Finished in cream white leather that matches the exterior blue perfectly. It show signs of wear, as any white leather interior from the 90s would. Specially around the sides of the drivers seat. There are no modifications on this M3 and it maintains its originality.

The engine runs well and as expected. Unfortunately BMW won’t provide the service because it was only mandatory for this services to be stored after 2010. According to the dealership that the seller contacted. The car was well maintained and the seller can provide any photos or videos with the car running and driving. Contact Catawiki if you are interested in those.

Only issue with car right now is the rear window seal is peeling which is a chronic problem with this type of cars but it can be solved by the seller.

This car is located in Portugal.

Very good condition: minimal signs of wear
