EXTERIOR
The Misano paintwork was 1 of only 3 colours available with the Evolution 2 editions. The deep sports red colour makes for a purposeful stance, covering the box arches, Evo specific front and rear spoilers and the rest of the car in a deep glossy shine. The body work is excellent on the car with very few stone chips or blemishes to be found. All of the black plastic trim and grilles are in good condition and retain their original black finish, without any fading or marks to be found.

INTERIOR
This M3 is fitted with the half leather interior, standard to all 501 Evo 2 cars that rolled off the production line. The condition is excellent, with no major wear or sagging of the bolsters and the chequered inserts free from any unsightly stains or marks. Just in front of the gear stick sits the special Evolution 2 numbered plaque, confirming the build number of the special edition vehicle.

The original leather steering wheel feels factory fresh, with none of the wear or fading that comes with higher mileage examples. All electronics and switchgear work as expected and feel tactile in the process, a nod to the build quality and attention to detail that has become synonymous with BMW over the years.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Equipped with a later, more powerful version of BMW’s iconic S14 Engine (the S14B23) the EVO 2 produced nearly 30bhp more than the standard M3 and was the highest capacity 2.3L BMW used in the road going M3s and build for homologation purposes. By using an aluminium head BMW were able to keep weight down significantly improving the cars handling over its competitors.

As with all E30 M3’s the car has a 5 speed dog leg gearbox that feels tight and provides a quick change between 2nd and 3rd gear, the Evo 2 utilising the same ratios but a shorter final drive.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The car is fitted with the standard Evolution 2 16″ BBS cross spoke alloys, all of which are in perfect unmarked condition. They are shod in a nearly new set of falken tyres.

Brake discs are all in good order with no signs of lipping, as are the pads which still have plenty of miles left in them.

HISTORY FILE
Supplied new by BMW Altwood the car was first registered on 18/8/1988 and is one of the few limited edition Evolution 2 M3s supplied to the UK from new.

The history file is extensive and tracks every owner throughout the cars 32 year life. 6 owners in total with a detailed breakdown of ownership length and reasons for sale.

MOT’s date back to 1995 and track the mileage alongside a folder thick of maintenance paperwork detailing service history and further work.

The original owners pack and manuals are included along with the M3 supplement book and spare keys.
