Description
1997 - Alpina B12
- 48'600 Km
- One of only 57 examples produced; arguably the most desirable 8-Series.
Although BMW’s M division never officially released an ‘M8’, Alpina stepped in to create something exceptional. Using the already impressive 850 CSi as a foundation, BMW enlarged its V12 engine to 5.7 litres. Alpina then further enhanced it by upgrading the camshafts, intake system, crankshaft, and exhaust, boosting output to an impressive 416 bhp and 570 Nm of torque. A six-speed manual gearbox came standard, while Alpina’s optional Shift-Tronic transmission, fitted to the example offered here, provided a more advanced driving experience.
Delivered new by Alpina in Germany in April 1994, this B12 5.7 is finished in striking Calypsorot metallic over a refined Anthrazit Buffalo leather interior a combination believed to be unique. The service book documents early maintenance carried out at Cuntz Speyer, a BMW dealership in Speyer, Germany. It is believed to have remained in Germany until December 2017, when it was acquired by the current owner and imported to Switzerland, showing 46,886 km at the time.
Presented in excellent overall condition and with only 57 units ever produced, this Alpina B12 5.7 is a rare and highly collectible highlight for any enthusiast of BMW or 1990s supercars.
