Description

About this Collectable

With this E30 325i Convertible you can enjoy BMW's 'Sheer Driving Pleasure' adagium in classic comfort. With a smooth straight-six, a manual gearbox and an M Sport chassis, this is what an open top BMW is all about. Finished in Calypsorot Metallic with Natur leather upholstery, it is a classic beauty.

A 3-series has always been an excellent platform for a convertible. With the first generation (the E21), BMW did not yet build a convertible itself. A convertible was available through the BMW dealerships, but that one was built by coachbuilder Baur.

Initially, there was only a Baur convertible of the E30 generation, but this time BMW also came up with a 3-series Convertible. And what an entrance it made. Fully open and with the hood neatly recessed into the body. In contrast to the Baur version, which had the window frames still standing.

The M3 was of course the top version of the 3-series Convertible, but the 325i is also not to be missed. It has two extra cylinders compared to the M3 and is in our opinion just a bit more stylish. The delicious 2.5 liter six-in-line produces 170 hp and 222 Nm of torque. This made it a very smooth and rapid car for that time and still keeps up effortlessly with modern traffic. This engine also found its way to another BMW convertible: the Z1.

A BMW 325i might not be a sports car, but it is a driver's car. Definitely this one. A six-in-line, rear-wheel drive, a manual gearbox and M sport suspension: this is how a BMW should be. With the roof open, the 'Freude am Fahren' feeling is complete.

But even stationary it is a car to enjoy, because just look at it. The clean lines have withstood the test of time excellently. This specific example is executed in Calypsorot Metallic, a relatively rare color. With leather upholstery in the color Natur and the 'crown cork' rims, making it an overall tasteful picture.

After a long search, the current owner imported the car from Switzerland, where this E30 was originally delivered. The BMW has a modest (demonstrable) mileage of 112,200 km.
