Description

1967 BMW 2000CS, S/N# 1104556, White with blue leather. Two-liter 4 cylinder engine with twin double-barrel Solexes (rated @ 120hp in ’67) and a 4 speed manual transmission. The “new class” BMW coupes featured a uniquely designed front end: the very present chromed BMW “double kidney” grille flanked by headlights covered by a glass fairing. This was not allowed in the US, so USA 2000CS coupes, received plain round headlamps. Our example is a European model with the famous front end and painted on red/blue M-style stripes. The car is in wonderful shape having resided in a collection for the past 15 years and prior to that, an auto museum. The CS was just serviced by local BMW specialists CMW and they installed a new head and did the top end of the motor (the original head has been retained). The interior is finished in navy blue and contrasted by a serious amount of lumber…the dash, steering wheel & top and door shoulder lines are all trimmed in a wonderful wood, not veneer, very cool. Showing 99,275 miles, the CS drives like a much more modern car, has ample power, supreme comfort and really turns heads.
