Trade-in car. This BMW 1602 convertible forms the perfect base for an extensive restoration. It is sound. The chassis is solid as a rock. The bodywork requires attention but nowhere has it rusted through. The body panels are neat. A remarkable feature is the tail lights derived from a later model. This used to be common practise to give the car a facelift. Luckily it will not prove too difficult to re-fit the original tail lights. The BMW 1602 has become quite rare and the convertibles are practically not to be found. It is of course important to have have all the bits and pieces complete when you embark on a restoration. Fortunately this car does not disappoint. The neat hood shuts nicely. The car comes with the rare and popular Cosmic alloys. The intact interior trim at the bare minimum needs a deep clean and most probably requires reupholstering. The brightwork is all there.
