Description
"Quite simply, BMW approach their motorcycles with the same serious attitude as they do their motorcars. The engineering is sound, the quality of manufacture very good and they have undergone exhaustive testing to ensure an excellent ride. These shaft driven, twin-engined motorcycles carried 594cc engines and were designed to be relatively high powered, high compression sport bikes capable of carrying a sidecar. Even the conservative paint finish was excellent and reflected the prestige end of the touring range available.
This near perfect example has been imported from South Africa where it underwent a complete restoration including a full engine rebuild, bare metal respray and all electrics and brakes restored back in the early 2000s. Whilst over there, as testament to the quality of the collection owned by the vendor, it won a specialist BMW Concours competition. Imagine how fastidious that was! With just 1,000 covered since its restoration and 17,700 covered overall, this meticulously prepared example probably represents one of the finest examples available today."
