Bentley’s ‘20’s and ‘30’s racing cars spark your imagination. They are cars that are distinct from any other car and are lauded with many a success on international circuits. Woolf Barnato won the LeMans 24 hours twice in 1929 and 1930 with a Bentley 6.5 litre Speed Six, making it the very first make to win the legendary race on two occasions. This was just one of the many pre-war Bentley conquests and certainly cemented the brands name for prosperity. Owning a race-pedigree Bentley is for the very fortunate few only. All of us car-lovers should have the opportunity to experience such a magnificent car. This fantastic Racing Green B Special 3/8 Racer could bring that dream a little bit closer.

This wonderful creation was built by Racing Green Engineering. Bearing the official title of a B special 3/8 Racer it is a homage to the legendary 20’s and 30’s racers. Racing Green Engineering is world famous for building these fascinating type of racing cars. They have the same feel as the original, the same sensation of brute power with easier handling and maintenance. A perfect combination thus, ready for semi-daily use, partaking in rallies or just to cherish. Our advice is clear: drive it as much as possible!
This sensational two-seater is built on a Bentley Mark VI and fitted with a powerful Bentley V8. It dischargers its exhaust fumes through the stunning externally mounted exhaust pipes, giving the car a classic fighter plane appearance.

This car has a beautiful blue finish, not the expected British Racing Green but none the less a colour that wholly suits this car. Just how particularly beautiful this car is was exemplified b y winning a first in two categories at the German Tegernsee Concours d’elegance. The chassis has been strengthened to hold the gigantic Bentley B80 5,675 cc eight-cylinder. Lubrication happens by means of a wet sump and fuel is pumped through four SU H.6 carburettors. Fuelling is either via a mechanical or twin electric engine. The 4-speed and 1-reverse gearbox is fully syncro-meshed. The enormous speed can be dissipated through the hydraulic front drum brakes and rear mechanical drum brakes, assisted by a mechanical servo.
We would like to end by saying that we are almost certain you are convinced after reading the above. To take away any lingering doubt why don’t you pop down too Brummen and have a look for yourself?
