Beschreibung:

Der Bentley S2 trat 1959 die Nachfolge des S1 an. Neu waren u.a der V8 Motor mit deutlicher Mehrleistung gegenüber dem alten Reihensechszylinder. Serienmäßig gab es nun eine Servolenkung. Als sportliche Sondermodelle wurden von Bentley die Continental Versionen als Coupés oder Limousinen angeboten. Bentley lieferte nur die Chassis mit Antrieb und namhafte Karossiers Ihrer Zeit schufen die Aufbauten. (Mulliner, Park Ward, James Young u.a.)
Von 1959 – 1962 wurden nur 128 Exemplare des Flying Spur gebaut.
Dieser Bentley Continental Flying Spur wurde ursprünglich in Großbritannien ausgeliefert und stammt aus dem Nachlass eines Sammlers. Er wurde umfangreich restauriert und von seinem Besitzer während seines Aufenthalts auf Sylt gefahren.

The Bentley S2 succeeded the S1 in 1959. One new feature was the V8 engine with a significant increase in output compared to the old in-line six-cylinder. Power steering was now standard. Bentley offered the Continental versions as coupés or limousines as sporty special models. Bentley only supplied the chassis with the engine and well-known coachbuilders of the time created the bodies. (Mulliner, Park Ward, James Young and others).

This Bentley Continental Flying Spur was originally delivered in the UK and comes from a collector's estate. It has been extensively restored and driven by its owner during his stay on the Island of Sylt.
