First unveiled to the public at the 1982 Geneva Motor Show, the Mulsanne featured a 6.7 litre V8 engine coupled to a Garrett Air Research turbocharger, with an estimated output of 300 hp controlled by a three-speed automatic transmission.

The Mulsanne S, on the other hand, was produced from 1987 to 1992.
This version incorporated the interior present on the Turbo R and was equipped with alloy wheels. The braking system consisted of four disc brakes (ventilated in the front section) while the V8 engine was managed by a three-speed automatic transmission. The suspension was independent with coil springs front and rear.

It also featured a new engine management system derived from Formula 1 technology and a new turbocharger cooling system. The luxurious interior was made of walnut wood and leather, with fine wool carpets.
A curious fact is that Mulsanne is the name of one of the most challenging corners of the circuit where the Le Mans 24-hour race is held.
