Description
Bentley’s wildly popular and successful Continental GT line was introduced in 2003, and was the first new offering by the Crewe, UK-based company following its split from Rolls-Royce. Powered by the brilliant 6.0-litre W12 engine with an all-wheel drive platform, the GT and its variants have set a new standard of power, luxury, and accessibility for nearly 20 years. Following its introduction, Bentley has constantly improved the GT, introducing saloon and convertible models, while offering its customers nearly innumerable combinations of colors, finishes, and styles from its sumptuous catalogue of stock offerings, but some customers are invited to take the bespoke program a bit further.
The Continental GTC Speed featured special trim, an exclusive wheel design, a lowered ride height, and an upgraded 602 hp engine. The example offered here was ordered new by the consignor, and built to her exact specifications. She worked with Bentley to create a spectacular, one-off convertible for her to enjoy at her Southwestern home. After several attempts to bring her vision of the car’s custom color to life, the amazing hue of Amber Metallic was approved, and her GTC Speed was built in mid-2010. The Amber paint gives the car an amazing presence, particularly in sunlight, and couples extremely well with her chosen Saffron and Newmarket Tan leather and dark burlwood. The Bentley has been dealer maintained since it was first delivered and resides in a significant private collection of postwar sports and luxury cars that she enjoys with her husband. Kept in a constant state of readiness and superb detail, the Speed showed 37,772 miles at the time of cataloguing, and is accompanied by its file of service records, specification sheet, and manuals. As a cherished member of a single automotive-centric family since it was built, this one-off open Bentley is sure to turn heads with every passing mile.
