Description
About this Collectable
When you talk about dream cars, the Audi R8 is high on the list for many. This is also the case with the current owner of this copy. This Audi R8 from the second owner, originally delivered in NL, is in top condition. Audi dealer maintained and a good mileage. The paint is like new, partly thanks to the wrap that was on it. A picture in every way, perfectly matching the environment of the photos: dark, incognito.
When it was unveiled in 2006, the R8 made a big impression. An Audi supercar: that had never been seen before. With of course the famous Quattro four-wheel drive. The design, with the characteristic 'sideblades', was also a design statement. There is now also a second generation, but the design of the first generation R8 is timeless and perhaps even more beautiful, more daring. Of the first generation R8, 24,000 were made (V8 & V10). For comparison, Porsche delivered around 215,000 Porsche 997s in the same period. This Collectable has absolute classic potential.
Despite its impressive performance, the R8 falls into the 'daily usable supercar' category. After all, it is still an Audi.
The very first R8s were equipped with a lovely 4.2 liter V8, but Audi thought that some extras could be added. In collaboration with Lamborghini, a 5.2 liter V10 was spooned into the car, which you can also find in the Gallardo. A great engine that pushes you to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. But despite his brutal roar, he is easy to control. This is partly due to its Quattro four-wheel drive and the good weight distribution. The aluminum body also ensures that the weight remains relatively low. But luckily it is also a car that you can take every day. He challenges you when the opportunity arises, but keeps himself neatly within the lines when you want to cruise quietly. The six-speed R-Tronic automatic transmission helps with this, which is also shared with Lamborghini.
This particular example is Phantomschwarz Metallic and is equipped with a carbon package and with dark gray rims. A perfect combination, because it gives the car a chic, but at the same time dark appearance. The whole picture is right: the aerodynamic lines, the large air scoops all around, the carbon sideblades and the sleek looking headlights. Incidentally, the Audi R8 V10 was the very first production car to be fitted with LED headlights as standard. To top it all off, you can see the impressive engine through the rear window.
