Auburn Twelve type 161, chassis number 400, concours condition. The type 12-161 has a two-seater convertible body with foldable rear seat at the back and was brought into circulation in 1931. It has wheels with chrome spokes and tyres with white sides. The body work is painted in an elegant combination of beige and an orangey red. The radiator grille has the famous three dimensional mesh canopy. They have two trumpet horns. The painted sheet metal dashboard has polished aluminium plating joining the dials and controls required for driving. The interior of the compartment, like a spyder, is made of thick beige leather. The rear section has a foldaway baggage holder. The roof, like the rest of the car, is in a "nearly new" condition. The machine has a specific lubrication pump made by Bijur, and a Purolator reusable oil filter. It is in a perfectly restored and operating condition. Its exceptional condition makes it worthy of a place in any of the great concours d'élégance, at the Villa d'Este or Pebble-Beach. It represents the peak of the brand and is amongst the exceptional standards of American car production.
