The factory had produced the limited-edition Zagato and the V8 had been updated, but the Virage was the first new production car and the first to be produced under Ford's ownership. One major item carried over from previous models was the5340cc V8 engine, but it had been much reworked for the Virage, enabling it to meet ever more stringent emission regulations. The production Virage debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1991, a prototype having been displayed at Birmingham's NEC the previous October. This immaculate UK-supplied Aston Martin Virage has covered a mere 1,010 miles and boasts only two private registered keepers from new. Purchased new by a prominent and titled businessman from the North-East of England, this example formed part of an exclusive private collection until 2014 whereupon it was purchased by our vendor from us in 2015. The car is part of the Generation GT Collection, a small collection of Aston Martin 'Grand Tourers' that our vendor has carefully curated over the past decade.Finished in Suffolk Red with Magnolia hide, it is described by our vendor as "in stunningly original condition." The paintwork is flawless and the interior presents as one would expect for such a low-mileage Aston Martin. The automatic transmission selects gears with ease and the driving experience is extremely smooth and refined. Supplied with its original service and maintenance booklets, tool kit andfirst aid boxthis car represents a genuine collector's item that has been preserved with care and is in a condition of unrepeatable quality. We welcome any inspection ofthis vehicle and prospective buyers should contact the office for appraisal options. This modern-classic is the finest example Silverstone Auctions have ever seen and should appeal to any collector of emerging classic cars from the 1990s.Please note: The MOT history check website shows a discrepancy in mileage and as such biddersare reminded to satisfy themselves before bidding.
