Description
Exceptional !!! One of only 3 left-hand drive 6.3 Aston Martin Virage Volantes produced, the only one with a 6-speed manual gearbox!
In 1992, Aston Martin Works Service introduced the 6.3 litre conversion pack for the Virage. This was a major upgrade that transformed the standard 5.3-litre V8 into a more powerful 6.3-litre engine. Modifications included increased bore and stroke, larger valves, high-compression pistons and a reworked intake system. The result was a significant increase in power, with around 465bhp and 624nm of torque!
In addition to the engine upgrade, the 6.3 conversion kit includes a number of other improvements:
Suspension and brakes: The suspension has been revised to take account of the increase in power, and larger, more powerful brakes have been fitted so that the car can stop as well as it can drive.
Aerodynamics: The bodywork has undergone subtle aerodynamic modifications to improve stability at high speeds. These include a deeper front spoiler and a rear spoiler.
Wider track and tyres: The car's track has been widened to improve handling, and it has been fitted with wider wheels and tyres for better grip and road contact.
The Aston Martin Virage Volante 6.3 is a rare model due to the limited number of cars that have received the 6.3 litre conversion. Each 6.3 conversion has been made to customer specification, making each car unique.
This Aston Martin Virage Volante was commissioned and purchased by a leading Monegasque collector.
Commissioned in 1992 with Aston Green paint, Magnolia trim with dark green piping and a dark brown mohair soft top; Aston Martin Works Service to modify the car to a 6.3-litre Wide-Body car with a number of personal requirements.
The specification included ZF six-speed gearbox, parking sensors, Gentex electrochromatic rear view mirror and much more.
As part of a large collection, Aston Martin Works Service serviced the car annually in the owner's personal garage in Monaco, covering only a low mileage.
ONLY three left-hand drive Aston Martin Virage Volantes 6.3s produced (one automatic and two manual), this was the only six-speed manual car.
The car was then sold in 2009 to a collector in Kuwait before being purchased by the current owner. The current owner has upgraded the car, including 2 trips of 1,200 km each in the past year.
It now has a total of 15,500 kms, is in perfect working order and is registered in France.
