Description

-Black Pearl with Black leather interior and Black carpeting, Restored from 38,000 mile original example, RSW 4.7 liter Vantage spec. 6-cylinder big bore engine producing 335 bhp and 335 lb. ft. of torque, 5-speed ZF transmission, Matching Numbers, Original RHD, Long-term collector ownership.

This DBS was unearthed in 2007 having been found in long term storage. It was then offered at the 2008 Bonhams Aston Martin Works auction. It was offered with full history, the car had enjoyed only four previous owners and has covered a mere 37,000-or-so miles from new. It was in serviced-recommissioned condition having its brakes serviced, automatic gearbox serviced, chassis and engine servicing. Now a running and driving DBS and having passed its UK MOT on its first attempt.

Subsequently the DBS was purchased at auction by a long term client of Autosport Designs. Living in Paris at the time, circa 2010, this DBS was entrusted to well-known and respected UK Aston Martin marque specialists RS Williams Ltd for a complete restoration. The restoration included various bespoke updates including its 4.7 liter Vantage specification engine, suspension handling kit, telescopic rear shock conversion, as well as a conversion from original automatic transmission to factory 5-speed ZF manual gearbox. No stone was left unturned, the workmanship and result can be seen today, the DBS still in superb-restored condition and with only the slightest patina. The restoration cost at the time was approximately $340,000 and it remains superb throughout.

Having relocated to the United States, New York City, Autosport Designs, Inc. has been honored and continues to maintain and store this DBS for the past eight years. Due to a busy schedule, the DBS was used and enjoyed for weekend day trips, here on Long Island and only in seasonal weather conditions, never in inclement weather and returned to Autosport Designs, for immediate cleaning and storage once again. The client would perform this exact exercise with his DB6, also restored and uprated by RSW, continually alternating from one to the other.

The DBS has received its yearly full-service maintenance regardless of use, should be was noted on the day trip, it was looked at immediately to keep this DBS in its current exceptional condition and ready for immediate use at a moment's notice.

On a recent road test, this DBS performed without fault and can only be labeled as a breathtaking Aston DBS in comparison to the factory original specification. The factory would be proud and of course, they are given RSW's reputation and build quality. Today, all systems are working as they should and as originally intended by the factory when delivered new.

Available with complete documentation and ownership history from new, factory books, original factory build sheet, this DBS is most certainly one of the finest examples of the model, anywhere.
