Some years after the two original Aston Martin DBR2 works sports-racers had retired from active competition and begun to appear occasionally on the historic racing scene, an enthusiast commissioned a well respected racing car designer to recreate one of these fabulous cars, while incorporating a number of improvements. A multi-tubular spaceframe chassis was constructed, duplicating the original track and wheelbase dimensions but providing much greater torsional rigidity than the DBR2's old Lagonda V12 chassis.
